COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) -- Jamie Smith scored his first goal of the season, part of Colorado's season-high output, and the Rapids beat the Houston Dynamo 3-0 Saturday night.
Conor Casey had a goal and two assists and Omar Cummings added a goal for Colorado (8-6-7).Smith got his goal less than two minutes into the game. Cummings had his first goal in five matches and Casey his first in his last four games.The Rapids haven't scored more than one goal in eight matches. Not since a 2-all draw at Houston on June 26 and have scored three goals only once, on April 18 against Toronto.Goalkeeper Ian Joyce was hardly tested while making his first start of the season.Houston (6-11-5 ) is 1-9-2 on the road.
