Striker Lee Novak and winger Gary Roberts both scored twice as Huddersfield marched into the FA Cup second round by demolishing hapless Dagenham 6-1 at the Galpharm Stadium.Anthony Pilkington, who also set up one of the goals for Roberts, twice supplied the ammunition for Novak to score either side of the break.
Robbie Williams blasted Town ahead with a long-range free-kick early on and Roberts doubled the lead soon after with a header from Pilkington's cross.
Novak and Jordan Rhodes then put the hosts 4-0 up before the break with close range finishes to effectively kill the tie off.
Novak bagged his second after 55 minutes with a powerful near post header from Pilkington's cross while Roberts made it 6-0 with a crisp 20-yard drive after 73 minutes.
It was Huddersfield's third straight win and the Terriers remain unbeaten at the Galpharm Stadium this season.
But their record of having gone nearly eight hours of football at home without conceding a goal was finally punctured when Paul Benson tapped in a consolation.
Roberts gifted possession to Daggers' substitute Graeme Montgomery and he squared the ball for Benson to score from close range 14 minutes from time.
