Forfar progressed to the third round of the Scottish Cup with a deserved but hard-fought 4-2 win over Third Division rivals East Stirling.
The Loons raced into a two-goal lead but were pegged back in the second half before running out winners with two late goals.
East Stirling were up against it from the 12th minute when Michael Bolochoweckyj was sent off for handling a goalbound Ross Campbell shot.
Campbell failed to take advantage, however, when he skied the penalty high over the bar.
He did make amends though in the 25th minute when he opened the scoring, reacting first after Chris Templeman's shot had been blocked by the visiting keeper.
Forfar made it 2-0 in the 34th minute when Andy Tod was left unmarked in the box to head a Martyn Fotheringham corner into the top of the net.
The visitors came out fighting at the start of the second half and Andy Rogers pulled one back within two minutes with a brilliant finish from just outside the box an they were level in the 63rd minute when the atrocious conditions helped David Dunn curl in a goal straight from a corner kick.
Ten minutes later, however, Campbell put Forfar back in front when he slid home a pass from Martyn Fotheringham after he had rounded the keeper.
Right on full-time Forfar earned a second penalty when Marc McKenzie tripped Chris Templeman and Ian Harty slammed home the spot-kick.
