Cowdenbeath ran out comfortable 2-0 winners against Stenhousemuir at Ochilview.

Stenhousemuir had the wind with them in the first half but could not capitalise on the advantage, and were punished in the 39th minute when Jon Robertson headed home after Chris McCluskey spilt the ball.

The visitors doubled their lead in controversial fashion in the second half when Gareth Wardlaw had been fouled by McCluskey, who tried to retrieve a loose ball just inside the box.

Referee Brian Colvin initially allowed play to continue, but after consulting with assistant George Drummond, a spot-kick was awarded and Scott McBride stepped up to score and wrap up a much deserved win five minutes after the break.

Stenhousemuir seldom threatened as the Blue Brazil eased home to climb into the play-off places.
