Forfar battled their way to victory with a scrappy 2-1 win over Annan.

Ross Campbell edged Forfar into the lead with his 14th goal of the season, heading home from close range after Chris Templeman's cross.

The home side then doubled their advantage four minutes later through Ian Harty, who found the bottom corner from Campbell's pass.

Annan came back into the match and were guilty of wasting chances, Brian Gilfillan going close with two headers that should have tested home keeper Conor Grant.

The visitors did eventually manage to pull a goal back in the 52 minute, David Cox capitalising on a mix-up between Grant and Stephen Tulloch.

Annan pushed hard for an equaliser but Forfar held on for a deserved three points.
