Ghana beat Sudan 2-0 on Sunday to become the first African team to qualify for next year's World Cup finals in South Africa.
Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien scored the goals in each half to give Ghana an unassailable lead at the top of qualifying Group D with two matches left to play.Ghana became the eighth country through to the 32-team tournament, joining hosts South Africa, who did not have to qualify, Brazil, Netherlands, Australia, Japan, South Korea and North Korea.
