BOCHUM, October 29 (Bundesliga) - Hoffenheim's sensational start to life in the Bundesliga continued as three goals in seven minutes against 10-man Bochum sent them back to the top of the table.Dennis Grote gave the hosts the lead after just two minutes and Bochum held on until Demba Ba equalised after 64 minutes.
Vedad Ibisevic converted a penalty six minutes later and Carlos Eduardo finished the scoring a minute later.
The hosts were reduced to 10 men after 76 minutes when Christoph Dabrowski received a second yellow.
It was a fourth straight victory for Ralf Rangnick's Hoffenheim side, who went one point ahead of Bayer Leverkusen, while Bochum are winless in their last six.
Rangnick insisted his side were not favourites going into the game and Bochum grabbed the lead after just two minutes.
Hoffenheim defender Matthias Jaissle did not clear a cross from the right and Grote collected the ball on before hammering home at the near post from 14 yards.
The visitors controlled the run of play but were mostly limited to long-range shots.
And Bochum had a fine chance to make it 2-0 three minutes before the break, Hoffenheim keeper Daniel Haas getting a finger on Mimoun Azaouagh's free-kick to direct it over the bar.
Rangnick's men had their best chance of the half two minutes later but Bochum keeper Daniel Fernandes got down well to keep out Chinedu Obasi's header.
Hoffenheim took control in the second half and finally equalised after 64 minutes through Ba, who backheeled a pass from the right side into the far corner.
That opened the floodgates for the visitors who pulled ahead after 70 minutes. Grote felled Andreas Beck in the area and Ibisevic blasted his spot-kick down the middle as Fernandes went right.
And Carlos Eduardo made it three after 71 minutes, running onto Ibisevic's long pass and looping it over Fernandes.
Bochum were forced to play the final 14 minutes a man down after Dabrowski collected his second booking within two minutes.
