A Stephen Dobbie double put Queen of the South on the road to a comfortable 4-1 win at Broadwood and plunge Clyde further into the relegation mire.

The Scottish Cup semi-finalists took the lead after 29 minutes when Dobbie latched onto Sean O'Connor's flick to drill the ball low past goalkeeper David Hutton.

The home side could have been two up 60 seconds later when Stevie Tosh cracked in a 15-yard angled drive only to see his effort bounce back off the woodwork.

However, Queen's doubled their lead after 32 minutes when Hutton sent Paul Burns sprawling in the penalty area and Tosh kept his cool to net from the spot.

The Doonhamers made it three when Dobbie slotted home after 64 minutes after running onto a long ball from Andy Aitken, before Clyde pulled one back from the penalty spot five minutes later through Stevie Masterton.

Clyde's misery was compounded two minutes from time when Dusan Bestvina turned the ball into his own net as he tried to cut out a Ryan McCann cross.
