BOCHUM, May 17 (Bundesliga) - Hansa Rostock signed off from the Bundesliga with a win after coming from behind to beat 12th-placed Bochum. The visitors looked to be heading down as the Bundesliga cellar-dwellers after Mergim Mavraj put Bochum ahead after 36 minutes.
But a goal from Enrico Kern four minutes later levelled the scores at half-time before Fin Bartels struck the winner 13 minutes from time.
The win means Rostock climbed off the bottom of the table, but having already been relegated that will doubtless be little consolation to Frank Pagelsdorf's side.
With their future already decided and with Bochum safe the game resembled a pre-season friendly more than a competitive match, with neither side creating anything until Mavraj opened the scoring nine minutes before the break.
A cross from the left wing by Joel Epalle was met in the box by the head of Mavraj, who fired the ball into the back of the net.
After more than half an hour with no chances there two goals in four minutes as from the next attack of the game Rostock levelled.
A confused Bochum goalkeeper Jan Lastuvka came to collect a corner, and after failing to do so could only watch as Kern was left to score into an empty net.
The late action of the opening half led to a brighter second period, with Zafer Yelen clearing a Mavraj shot off the line in the 47th minute as Bochum nearly regained the lead.
Rostock responded with Yelen going close two minutes later when he cut inside and drew a save from Lastuvka.
The Czech stopper was called into action again after 70 minutes as the visitors remained on top and Regis Dorn had a shot from 30 yards.
But to the shock of the home fans Lastuvka was beaten seven minutes later when a defensive mistake on the edge of the area gave Bartels enough space to hit a shot which flew into the top-right corner from 25 yards.
