THE HAGUE, March 18 (Eredivisie) - Aleksandar Rankovic`s second-half strike earned relegation candidates ADO Den Haag a share of the spoils against Roda JC.

Edrissa Sonko had given the visitors from Kerkrade a 25th minute advantage but Rankovic equalised midway through the second half.

In an entertaining first period, Sonko could have opened the scoring in the fifth minute when Sergio sent in a cross from the left but Sonko headed wide of the right post from five yards.

Minutes later and ADO`s Said Bakkati failed to clear the ball from the defence and Sergio ran onto the ball and shot from 12 yards but keeper Vladan Kujovic was able to save the ball.

Sonko did find the back of the net when he ran onto a through ball from Pa-Modou Kah from the right channel, broke through the defence and, in a one-on-one with Jaroslav Drobny, beat the keeper by slotting the ball into the net.

The goalscorer was at it again in the 34th minute, shooting from 16 yards out he hit the ball high and wide over the bar.

In the 38th minute, Ferrie Bodde crossed from the left wing to Edwin de Graaf who shot from 14 yards but attempt went over.

ADO Den Haag`s Bodde had a long shot from 25 yards but it proved to be an easy save for the keeper.

In the 44th minute, Joonas Kolkka crossed into the box with a corner and Michael Mols shot from eight yards but Kujovic made a great save.

After the restart, Edwin De Graaf centred the ball from the right for Geert den Ouden but his 12-yard attempt went over.

In the 57th minute, Boldiszar Bodor had a shot from 13m out after breaking through the defence, but the ball just went over the bar.

Edwin de Graaf`s pass to Bodde led to a shot from 10 yards but the keeper saved.

Rankovic then earned ADO Den Haag their point.

Kolkka delivered the pass from the right wing and Rankovic shot from eight yards and scored with a powerful shot.

ADO were suddenly attacking, and in the 71st minute, Alberto Saavedra had a header from four yards after Bodde`s corner cleared off the line by Alexander Voigt.

In the 77th minute, Saavedra again had a header on goal from close range after Eljero Elia`s corner.

The ball was on target but was headed away by Vincent Lachambre.

Four minutes from the end and Mols had a shot from 16 yards out but the keeper saved the ball.
