Stirling Albion kept their outside chances of a play-off place intact by beating Forfar Athletic for the second time in five days, this time 3-1.

Albion were in total control from the start and the breakthrough came after just eight minutes.

David O'Brien dazzled down the left and slipped the ball inside to Chris Aitken.

Aitken fired goalwards but former Albion player Eddie Forrest prevented the goal by palming the ball away.

The referee immediately awarded a penalty and red-carded Forest for the handball, with Aitken converting to put Albion one goal ahead.

Their dominance continued but they had to wait until the 34th minute when David O'Brien squared the ball for Paddy Connolly to score.

Home keeper Myles Hogarth barely had a save to make as Albion stayed on top of the game in the second period and they went three clear after 51 minutes when Aitken crashed the ball into Sean Murdoch's top right hand corner.

Forfar's Paul Lunan lobbed home a consolation effort after 58 minutes after indecisiveness in the home defence, but Albion held on to take all three points.
