SORIA, July 6 (Primera Liga) - Francisco Lopez Alfaro insists his appointment as coach of newly-promoted Primera Liga side Numancia fulfils all his dreams in the sport.

The former Spain international was the surprise choice to replace Quique Hernandez, who led the club to promotion last season.

Although Hernandez's decision to leave the club to coach Recreativo Huelva next season was a blow, his successor insists Numancia are far from certainties for an instant return to the Second Division.

"It is going to be difficult for us to avoid relegation, but there is no way it is impossible,'' said Lopez Alfaro.

"I still have not had the time to get to know the club well, nor to look at possible signings.

"I know there are several players the club are looking at.''

And Lopez Alfaro, whose only previous coaching experience has been with sides such as Jaen, Coria, Figueras and Extremadura in Spain's lower divisions, is looking forward to the challenges ahead.

"This fulfils my ambitions as a coach. I am very excited to come here to Soria and I like the club's proposals,'' he added.

"We have to base our efforts on the unity of everyone linked to the club.''
