 Villarreal sign Valladolid hitman Llorente

MADRID, May 26 (Reuters) - Villarreal have reached an agreement to sign striker Joseba Llorente from Valladolid on a four-year contract, the Primera Liga club said on Monday.

The 28-year-old helped Valladolid win promotion to the top flight with 17 goals in 2007, and was the side's top scorer in La Liga last season with another 17.

He becomes Villarreal's second signing after midfielder Edmilson joined from Barcelona.

Villarreal secured second place in the Primera Liga last season, their highest finish, and earned automatic qualification to the Champions League group stage for next year.
