Scotland suffer four withdraws for Czech test

Scotland manager George Burley has suffered four withdrawals ahead of Friday's friendly against the Czech Republic.

The national team coach met up with his players at their Cameron House base in Loch Lomond this afternoon ahead of the trip to Prague.

Tottenham full-back Alan Hutton, Birmingham forward James McFadden and Rangers duo Steven Whittaker and Kevin Thomson have all pulled out through injury.

Whittaker and Thomson were both in line to earn their first caps but a long, hard season with the Ibrox side has taken its toll.

Club-mates Barry Ferguson, Allan McGregor, David Weir and Lee McCulloch were already absent from the original squad named by Burley earlier this month.

The Scotland boss has made one further call-up in light of today's withdrawals, Motherwell's David Clarkson.
