Brechin boss Jim Duffy remains without the services of injured trio Kevin Byers, David Murie and David White for the home clash with East Fife.

City will be hoping to put Tuesday night's disappointing defeat against Peterhead behind them, and Duffy will check on the fitness of Barry Smith after he picked up a knock in midweek.

Duffy said: "When you get two or three good chances in a game you have to take at least one of them and the fact that we didn't do so on Tuesday night was a big disappointment.

"However, we have the chance to make amends when we play East Fife and we want to ensure that our excellent record at Glebe Park continues.''

Jon Seeley, who missed out on Tuesday because of work commitments, will be available for selection.

East Fife look set to be boosted by the return of Bobby Linn after he took a full part in training.

Paul Nugent is also available again but Bob Campbell (stomach) and Scott Thomson (Achilles) are both expected to miss out.

Stevie Crawford's men make the journey north to face a Brechin side who will be looking for revenge from their 2-0 first day defeat.

Crawford said: "Brechin have always been good at home but we set a standard the last time we played them.

"Maybe it's a case, like the first half against Raith Rovers, that we play better when we're not really fancied so we've got to get our performance levels right.

"We had a wee clear the air chat with the boys this week. It was nothing major, but I know from past experience how important it is to let the players give their feedback on things that they think we could be doing better."
