Stranraer are looking to add more firepower to their squad with the signing of a new striker before Saturday's visit of Elgin. The Blues are hoping to run the rule over former Stenhousemuir forward Scott McManus.
Boss Keith Knox said: "We feel because of the situation with Michael Moore being out, that Stuart McColm and Martin Jack are too similar.''
Striker Moore is struggling with injury and is expected to miss out.
Elgin boss Ross Jack could be without three players for the match.
David Craig will definitely miss the clash, while Craig Frizzell and Neil McDonald will undergo late fitness tests on their respective injuries.
The Elgin side will have to leave the Highlands at 7am ahead of the match and Jack is hopeful Frizzell and McDonald are passed fit.
"It's a long way to go without a full squad but hopefully the guys will be okay,'' said Jack.
"We're leaving early to get the best possible preparation for the match."
