Napoli coach Roberto Donadoni insists he does not feel under pressure despite his team's poor start to the Serie A season. The Partenopei take on Udinese at the San Paolo tomorrow on the back of a 4-1 debacle at Genoa in the last round.
The result marked their second defeat in three games and placed Donadoni under fire.
"Do I feel under pressure? I don't,'' said Donadoni. "I feel like a lion who wants to bounce back.
"After three games played, there should not already be this kind of talk.''
The former Italy coach replaced Edy Reja, who was sacked in March, but has so far failed to make an impact in Naples, collecting just three wins in 14 matches in charge.
Donadoni spoke with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis after Sunday's game and has the full backing of the board.
"It was a very calm chat,'' said Donadoni. "There is no problem whatsoever.''
The Napoli tactician still finds it difficult to accept last weekend's result.
Marek Hamsik gave Napoli a 41st-minute lead before Sergio Floccari equalised at the stroke of half-time from the penalty spot.
Genoa then scored three goals in the second half.
"I watched the game two or three times,'' he said. "Of course, when you analyse the game afterwards, you realise you could have done things differently.
"But I believe that we played a good first half and had we gone into the break with a 1-0 lead, we would not have lost.
"But we are all responsible for this defeat.
"I understand the fans are frustrated, it's not good to lose 4-1.
"We accept the criticisms and we will try to give a better account of ourselves on Saturday.
"But we must continue to work, improve and grow as a team.''
A good result would be a big boost in confidence for Donadoni's men considering they face defending champions Inter Milan at the San Siro on Wednesday.
Udinese go into this weekend's clash in Naples in buoyant mood.
Italy international Antonio Di Natale produced a sublime performance to fire Udinese to their first win of the campaign last time out.
Di Natale scored a hat-trick in his team's 4-2 win against Catania to help his side climb to seventh in the Serie A standings.
"I am just doing my duty, which is to score goals,'' said Di Natale. "The goals are not just down to me, but the merit of the whole team.
"The team created many goalscoring opportunities and when that happens, it's easy to score.
"Now we hope we can pick up where we left off against Catania and take a positive result in Naples.''
The hosts will be without defenders Salvatore Aronica and Hugo Campagnaro, both serving one-match bans.
Fabio Quagliarella will face his former team as he is set to partner Ezequiel Lavezzi in Napoli's attack.
Udinese welcome back defender Giovanni Pasquale, who missed last weekend's encounter with a muscular injury.
