Loan signings Nathan Baker and Eric Lichaj are set to come straight into contention for Lincoln's home game against Torquay.
With centre-half Moses Swaibu injured and winger Aaron Brown playing out of position as part of the back four, the defenders, both from Aston Villa, could make their full debuts once their registrations are approved.
Khano Smith is also in line for his debut, with the Bermuda winger signing a short-term deal with the club.
The trio's arrival has been offset by the departure of another loanee Sergio Torres. The winger returned to Peterborough this week so Lichaj could slot in at left-back and pave the way for Brown to return to his preferred role out wide.
Chris Sutton experienced defeat for the first time as Lincoln manager at Northampton last weekend and has options available should he wish to freshen-up his side, with the likes of player-coach Ian Pearce, Scott Kerr, Cian Hughton, Lenell John-Lewis and Jamie Clarke all pushing for recalls.
Paul Connor is closing in on a return to match fitness following a knee injury but this game is likely to come too soon for the striker.
Struggling Torquay wait on the fitness of forward Marvin Williams ahead of the long trip north.
Williams (knee) was ruled out of United's 2-2 home draw with Morecambe last weekend - the Gulls' fourth successive league draw.
United boss Paul Buckle shuffled his line-up to re-introduce on-loan Peterborough United forward Scott Rendell in a 4-3-3 formation, but in the second half he reverted to a 4-4-2 line-up by re-introducing wingers Wayne Carlisle and Danny Stevens to effect.
Carlisle headed United's equaliser and second goal with his first touch following his half-time introduction and could be set for a starting berth against Sutton's men.
With six players out on loan and Williams injured, Buckle added teenage youth product Scott Taylor to his matchday squad and he could again be involved.
