Matt Fry is set to make his home debut for Gillingham against Charlton.
The on-loan West Ham defender impressed against the MK Dons last weekend and should keep his place in the starting line up.
However, fellow on-loan signing Scott Vernon has seen his spell at the Priestfield Stadium cut short after damaging ankle ligaments just 43 minutes into his debut and the striker has now returned to Colchester.
The Gills have been hit by the news that Danny Jackman requires surgery on his dislocated shoulder and will be out until after the new year.
It had been hoped the midfielder could avoid going under the knife but he is now set to undergo an operation on Monday.
Fellow long-term absentee Simon King is his crutches after surgery on damaged ankle ligaments but the defender will have to wait until the festive period before making his return to the first team.
Mark McCammon is also still out but fellow forwards Luis Cumbers and Andy Pugh have returned from loan spells and could be included after featuring for the reserves on Wednesday.
Jose Semedo is in line to return to the starting line-up when Athletic travel to their derby rivals.
The midfielder returned as a half-time substitute during last weekend's win over Huddersfield following a spell out with a pelvic injury.
Forward Leon McKenzie (thigh) and midfielder Dean Sinclair (knee) are the only absentees, with boss Phil Parkinson reporting no fresh injury worries.
Striker Deon Burton will continue to play on with his hernia problem.
Parkinson gave Izale McLeod his first league start of the season last weekend and was rewarded with the striker's second goal of the campaign.
Highly-rated teenager Jonjo Shelvey could therefore find himself on the bench again for Charlton's first league trip to Priestfield in 28 years.
