Sheffield Wednesday manager Alan Irvine will name his starting line-up from an unchanged squad for the midweek home game with Blackpool.

Irvine's side went down narrowly at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but the Scot has no new injury or suspension problems and is unlikely to make many, if any, changes.

American right-back Frank Simek is expected to retain his place after being handed a rare start this season at Forest. Lewis Buxton is sidelined with a hamstring strain.

Winger Jermaine Johnson is still nursing a hamstring injury and midfielder Tommy Miller is struggling with a similar problem.

Dutch winger Etienne Esajas is hoping for a recall after replacing Michael Gray midway through the second half on Saturday, while Leon Clarke is vying with Luke Varney and Marcus Tudgay for a starting place up front.

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has axed a trio of players from his squad to face after they were spotted enjoying a night out at the weekend.

The Seasiders slumped to a 2-1 home defeat against Leicester on Saturday and Barry Bannan, Neal Eardley and Ishmel Demontagnac - who all featured against the Foxes - were spotted in a Blackpool nightspot in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Elsewhere, Charlie Adam begins a two-match ban after he collected a 10th yellow card of the season against City.

Midfielder Stephen Husband is set to make his debut for the Seasiders at Hillsborough but striker Brett Ormerod is still suspended and serves the final installment of a three-match ban.

Defender Danny Coid (hamstring) could miss out again but on-loan Leicester striker DJ Campbell comes into contention after being ineligible to face his parent club on Saturday.
