Leon Best is doubtful for Coventry as they look to reverse back-to-back defeats when West Brom come to town.

The Republic of Ireland striker sustained a knee injury during Tuesday`s 2-0 defeat at Cardiff and manager Chris Coleman is currently waiting to discover whether the problem is just bruising or something more serious.

Influential midfielder Aron Gunnarsson will definitely be missing for the Sky Blues as they wait for similar news on his suspected broken leg, with Coleman hoping it is not as bad as first feared.

Coventry`s threadbare squad is already without Sammy Clingan (broken toe), and Coleman is desperately looking to bolster his ranks before the weekend.

On a positive note, Ben Turner returned to the starting XI at the Cardiff City Stadium after knee and ankle problems and should again be okay, while midfielder David Bell (ankle) was handed a substitutes role after a lengthy period on the sidelines.

New loan signings Chris Hussey and Gary Madine are expected to be in line for their home debuts.

West Brom striker Roman Bednar is touch-and-go to face Coventry as he battles to fully recover from a back problem.

The Czech Republic international was stretchered off with a trapped nerve early on against Reading last weekend, an injury which forced him out of the midweek home defeat to Swansea.

He is nearing full fitness but, due to the nature of the problem, Albion will not risk his involvement at the Ricoh Arena unless he is 100%.

Chris Brunt, who has been out of late with a calf injury, is also on the road to recovery and could make an appearance against the Sky Blues although it remains to be seen whether the game will come too soon for him.

Otherwise, head coach Roberto Di Matteo has no new injury or suspension problems from Tuesday`s 1-0 defeat at The Hawthorns.

Goalkeeper and captain Scott Carson is still struggling with the ankle injury that prevented him from linking up with England recently but he should be okay to continue. Long-term absentees James Morrison (heel), Ishmael Miller and Neil Clement (both knee) remain out.
