St Mirren have no fresh injury problems ahead of the second-round match against Dumbarton in the Co-operative Insurance Cup.

Midfielder Gilerao Tonet's red card in the defeat at Hearts on Saturday will lead to a suspension in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League but he is available for cup duty.

Manager Gus MacPherson, who is again expected to be without striker Craig Dargo as he recovers from an ankle injury, could make changes to his starting XI but has stressed he will not field a weakened team.

MacPherson said: "We've played well in our first three SPL games but we've only got one point to show for our efforts.

"Now we have the opportunity to go and win a game and hopefully that will build the confidence before Saturday.

"This year we've played well and should have picked up a couple more points than we have.

"What happened last year is a timely reminder that you need to be at it in every single game.

"When you are at home you can't drop your standards, you have to make sure you're switched on and do things sharp, and if you don't you can be punished for it. And we've got to make sure that doesn't happen again.''

Dumbarton manager Jim Chapman has a number problems to contend with for the clash.

Derek Carcary, Mark Canning and Michael Dunlop are definite non-starters, along with Michael Moore.

But Chapman believes he still has the options to cause an upset.

He said: "We'll give it our best shot but there is a gulf between the teams we have to try and bridge.''
