Charlton have added rookie striker Tamer Tuna to their squad for the home clash with Birmingham.

The 17-year-old has been promoted to the first-team pool after scoring twice for the reserves in midweek.

Tuna could be on the bench as boss Phil Parkinson is unlikely to tinker with his starting line-up following last weekend's 3-2 win at fellow strugglers Southampton.

Darren Ambrose came on as a second-half substitute at St Mary's following a thigh injury and should be involved again.

Fellow midfielder Matt Spring has missed out on the last couple of matchday squads but should feature at some time over Easter.

Defender Jonathan Fortune (Achilles), midfielder Jose Semedo (ankle) and striker Andy Gray (pelvis) remain on the sidelines.

Lee Carsley will be missing for Birmingham as they look to maintain their promotion charge.

The Blues captain saw red for a crude challenge on Chris Iwelumo during Monday night's crucial 2-0 victory over rivals Wolves, meaning he will now miss the trip to The Valley and the subsequent games against Plymouth on Easter Monday and Watford next weekend.

Damien Johnson could be man to step in, although Alex McLeish has other options available to him including bringing Keith Fahey into the middle of midfield.

Otherwise the Blues boss has an almost fully-fit squad, with right-back Stuart Parnaby (thigh) the only definite absentee, although Djimi Traore is struggling with a slight problem.

James McFadden returned from his knee injury to play the second half on Monday night, while Marcus Bent (hamstring) and Kemy Agustien (groin) are both fit again, although the latter is unlikely to be considered so soon.

Gary McSheffrey, who is on loan at Nottingham Forest, will not play again this season after undergoing a knee operation, while Ulises de la Cruz has rejected the chance to remain at St Andrew's for the rest of the season in search of regular first-team football.
