Burnley manager Owen Coyle will again be without striker Steve Thompson ahead of the visit of QPR.

Thompson remains absent after he was carried off on a stretcher with ankle ligament damage during the 5-0 home win over Nottingham Forest on March 14.

Veteran Graham Alexander, 37, lost his record of playing in every minute of Burnley's campaign after limping off with a calf strain in last weekend's 1-1 draw at Derby.

Alexander had played the full 90 minutes in every one of the Clarets' 53 games this term until he was substituted in the closing stages at Pride Park.

But Coyle will hope to have Alexander available as he looks to name an unchanged side for the fourth game in succession.

Heidar Helguson and Jordi Lopez are set to miss out for QPR.

Iceland striker Helguson is still struggling with a hamstring injury and Spanish midfielder Lopez is carrying a knock which forced him to miss last weekend's goalless draw with Crystal Palace.

Skipper Martin Rowlands, fellow midfielder Akos Buzsaky (both knee) and forward Patrick Agyemang (thigh) remain long-term injury absentees.

Striker Rowan Vine made his comeback as a substitute against Palace following a year on the sidelines with a broken leg and he should be involved again.

Player-coach Gareth Ainsworth is back in temporary charge of Rangers following Thursday night's sacking of manager Paulo Sousa.
