Brechin pair Adam Nelson and David White will miss the clash with Arbroath due to injury.White suffered a suspected broken leg in the midweek clash with Ayr United and now faces a lengthy recovery period.
Nelson missed the match with East Fife on Saturday but caretaker manager Kevin McAllister remained tight lipped on the reason.
City are still in the play-off places and McAllister is urging his side to maintain their form to keep them up in the mix.
He said: "They're a great bunch of boys in that dressing room. Whoever comes in has got a great set of lads, but we'll just have to make sure that we're prepared and ready for the next game.''
Arbroath head into the derby with a squad hugely strengthened compared to that which went down to Stirling on Saturday.
Marc McCulloch is expected to make his long-awaited return. Paul Lunan is likely to return after a hand injury, while Alan Rattray ruled himself out on Christmas Day due to a tooth abscess but is now available.
Bryan Scott hobbled off early against Albion and is a slight doubt.
Manager John McGlashan is currently in discussions with a defender and midfielder in a bid bring them to Gayfield. Both have confirmed their interest in joining the club but the process of agreeing a transfer fee and the potential for a player exchange will now need to be examined with McGlashan saying: "The deals may or not happen before Saturday.''
McGlashan is confident that on-loan starlets Craig Forsyth and David McGowan will be available for selection for the Glebe Park clash after their loan deals were secured.
