Port Vale boss Lee Glover could once again be without Shane Tudor for the visit of Morecambe.
The former Leyton Orient winger has missed the Valiants' last two games with a troublesome knee injury, although he is hopeful of proving his fitness ahead of the clash.
Forward Kyle Perry is a major doubt with a knee injury. The 22-year-old sustained the problem in training this week and is currently awaiting the results of a scan.
Lee Collins is likely to retain his place in the heart of defence ahead of John McCombe, although Collins could be moved to left-back if Glover opts to rest on-loan Plymouth youngster Damien McCrory.
Luke Rodgers is pushing for a start in attack after he came off the bench to grab a consolation goal in the midweek home defeat to Exeter.
Striker Steve Thompson remains the only long-term absentee as he continues to struggle with a hamstring problem.
Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy is expected to hand new loan signing Ryan McGivern his debut.
The Shrimps have not won in eight games and McIlroy has moved to strengthen his defence by bringing in the Manchester City youngster on a two-month deal.
He will make a late decision on Matty Blinkhorn, who has had an injection on the cartilage injury that has kept him out of the last few games, but Garry Hunter and Michael Twiss are still two weeks away from full fitness.
McIlroy looks set to keep faith with youngster Aaron Taylor, who has started the last two games in attack, and that means Diarmuid O'Carroll will again have to settle for a place on the bench.
McIlroy is fully aware of his side's plight and knows it's important to start winning games, saying: "Confidence is hurt with losing games and we're now going in to our 12th game fighting relegation. We either lose or draw and that's not good enough.''
