Managerless Port Vale entertain Notts County looking to end a run of four successive league defeats.
A temporary management team of Dean Glover and Andy Porter will take charge of the clash and may hand a first start of the season to midfielder Paul Edwards (ankle).
Defender Sam Stockley (thigh) started last weekend's 1-0 defeat to Gillingham and, after losing the captain's armband to Marc Richards, has stressed his determination to win the responsibility back.
Goalkeeper Chris Martin is in contention having recovered from a back problem, while striker Steve Thompson is expected to return to training this week following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Midfielder David Howland and strikers Louis Dodds, Kyle Perry and James Lawrie will all be desperate to start having been on the bench against the Gills.
However, midfielder Luke Chapman has undergone knee cartilage surgery and is out.
Notts County manager Ian McParland has no fresh injury concerns.
Sean Canham and Spencer Weir-Daley could come into contention for a starting role in attack, while Jay Smith is pushing for a place in the Magpies midfield.
Midfielder Adam Nowland has yet to recover from his hamstring injury and continues to miss out, while defender Stephen Hunt is also unavailable as he continues to struggle with a groin problem.
Gavin Strachan is expected to continue in the heart of County's midfield.
The 29-year-old Scotsman made his first start of the season in last weekend's 2-1 victory over Aldershot, following a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, and reported no ill effects after the game.
