David Allan, Martin Charlesworth, Stephen Mackay and David Niven are all out of Elgin's clash with Dumbarton.City boss Robbie Williamson will wait until nearer kick-off time before naming his side.
Williamson said: "I can't believe we have so many players out as early as this, it's very frustrating for everyone involved.''
Assistant manager Kenny Gilbert is also banned for the encounter.
Dumbarton boss Jim Chapman has mounting problems.
Paul Keegan, Fergus Tiernan and Mark Canning have been added to an injury list which already included Michael Moore, Mick Dunlop and Liam Cusack while Chapman also has doubts over Craig Brittain, Gary Wilson and Ray Logan.
"Given the situation we face, three under 19's will travel with us. Young Andy Moore, Kieron Brannan and Daly McSorley will all be on the bus,'' said Chapman.
"I'm also looking at bringing in a player on a loan deal but time is the factor here. Andy Geggan though is eligible to play, but he will miss out the next round of the Cup.
"Games have been coming at us thick and fast - perhaps too quick."
