TURIN, March 18 (Serie A) - Udinese coach Pasquale Marino believes his side can finish the Serie A season in style despite watching them drop out the European berths at the weekend.

A 2-2 draw at home to Lazio on Saturday allowed Sampdoria to leapfrog the Friuli into sixth place, the final UEFA Cup qualifying berth.

The seventh-placed Bianconeri travel to Turin to meet Torino on Wednesday looking for their first triumph in three games, but Marino insists the club remains well on track.

"In the last couple of weeks we have made some progress,'' said Marino.

"Our only though right now is to end the season at a crescendo regardless of what position we are in.

"We have come from our difficult time and we are slowly getting back to our good form, but there is still a lot of work left to do.

"We need to focus on growing as a team and to find the right intensity and focus.''

Udinese have struggled to find their form at home, having won just one of their last six encounters at the Friuli stadium, while they have taken only one point from their last two away games.

Marino is hoping his team will show the same fight that saw them to twice battle back against Lazio to take a point.

"I want to see the team's spirit that was displayed in the second half against Lazio,'' he said.

"Against the Romans, we were more efficient and incisive after the re-start.''

Udinese are well aware they face a battle at Turin's Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday.

Torino saw an eight-game unbeaten run come to an end on Sunday when they slipped to a 3-0 defeat at bottom side Cagliari, prompting club president Urbano Cairo to launch a furious broadside at his players.

"This has been our worst game of the season,'' said Cairo.

"I am furious with the team, they had the wrong approach to the game.

"I feel sorry for the Torino fans that made the journey to watch such a terrible game. We must turn the page immediately.''

Despite Torino's surprise loss, Marino is not taking anything for granted against a team who have suffered just two defeats at home this season.

"Now we face a very motivated Torino,'' said Marino.

"It's true, the Granata lost badly at Cagliari, but they are a very good side and they are especially strong at home.

"But the result on the game will depend on how we approach this game and whether or not we lose the control of the game.''

Toro coach Walter Novellino will be hoping to welcome back Vincenzo Grella and Marco Pisano, who both missed last weekend's defeat through injury.
