Lubomir Michalik Bio Send To Friend

Promising Slovakian central defender Lubomir Michalik signed a three-year contract with Bolton Wanderers in January 2007.

As Bolton sought to help Michalik acclimatise to English football following his arrival for an undisclosed fee from Slovakia's FC Senec the player was loaned out in March 2007 to Championship strugglers Leeds United.

In April, having quickly established himself in the Leeds side, Michalik agreed to stay with the Elland Road club for the remainder of the season only to be recalled to Bolton as cover following a spate of injuries.

Michalik immediately went into the Bolton side making his debut as a substitute in the 3-1 home defeat to Reading. The Slovak went on to score his first goal for his new team against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Michalik began his career with FC Senec where he spent two years, making 20 appearances and scoring two goals before his move to the Premier League with Bolton where he will hope further develop his career and add to his burgeoning collection of Slovakian international caps.
