Stephen O'Halloran Bio
Send To Friend
Academy graduate O'Halloran was handed a senior squad number in January 2007 but was sent on-loan to Wycombe Wanderers to gain first team experience in the same year.
The Irish youngster enjoyed a successful spell at Wycombe and impressed against Chelsea in a Carling Cup semi-final draw.
O'Halloran formerly played for Springfield AFC in Republic of Ireland and the defender has worn the green of Ireland at U15, U16, U17 and U21 levels.
In May 2007 he was named in Steve Staunton's senior Ireland squad for the the friendlies with Ecuador and Bolivia, before he had made a single senior Villa appearance.
However, his return to the club in 2007/08 was disappointing. After a poor loan spell with Southampton, he moved to Leeds but sustained cruciate ligament damage before making his debut.
Another loan spell came in November 2008 when he moved to Swansea City, but he was injured on his debut and only managed three appearances for the Championship club. And the loan ended with another cruciate ligament damage which puts doubts over his long-term future.
