Promising young Welsh defender Chris Gunter signed for Tottenham Hotspur from Cardiff City in a deal reportedly worth £3m in January 2008.

Gunter, who made his debut for the Bluebirds aged just 17, became the youngest Cardiff player ever to play for the full Welsh team when he featured against New Zealand in May, 2007.

He made four appearances for Spurs in the second half of 2007-08 season making his debut in the FA Cup against Reading.

Gunter maintained his form and fitness with six appearances in the Tottenham reserve team and can look forward to a bright future at White Hart Lane.

After a handful of appearance in 2008/09, he was loaned to Nottingham Forest in March 2009.
