Simon Davies Bio Send To Friend

Welsh international Simon Davies joined Fulham from Everton in January 2007 for an undisclosed fee as the Craven Cottage club looked to find a replacement on the right side of midfield for Steed Malbranque.

Ahead of the 2008/09 season Davies had made 50 Premier League appearances for Fulham, scoring nine goals, and proven himself a valuable, if not spectacular, member of the squad thanks to his tireless running and snap in the tackle.

Davies began his career in the youth ranks as Peterborough United and by the tender age of 20 had already made over 50 appearances for the club before moving to Tottenham Hotspur came in 1999.

After making 154 appearances and scoring 24 goals at White Hart Lane, some of them spectacular long-range efforts, Davies moved to Everton in May 2005 as the Goodison Park club looked to augment their squad ahead of what was to be an ill-fated effort to make it through the Champions League qualifiers.

The midfielder had a poor first season in Everton's disappointing 2005/06 campaign and failed to convince David Moyes in his second term, which paved the way for his move to Fulham in January 2007.

On the international stage Davies made his full debut for Wales against Ukraine in April 2001, while the midfielder's most memorable performance came in Wales' shock 2-1 victory over Italy, with Davies grabbing the first goal of the game.
