Garcia joined Hull City on a free transfer in the summer of 2007 and proved to be an inspired signing as the Tigers won promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs.

The forward was a key member of the Hammers fantastic youth team which performed miracles during the 1998/99 season and was tipped to make the breakthrough into the first team. He was also in the team which won the 1999/2000 FA Youth Cup.

He made his professional debut while on loan at Leyton Orient in August 2000.

Garcia made 22 appearances for West Ham before being sold to Colchester United for a nominal fee in September 2004. He was an important figure in the Colchester side which earned promotion to the Championship as winners of League One in 2004/05.

After three years at Layer Road he moved to Hull at the end of his contract. His Tigers bow came in a 3-2 home defeat to Plymouth Argyle and he netted his first goal in the next match - a 3-0 League Cup win at Crewe Alexandra.

The Australia youth international missed just eight games in his first season at the KC Stadium, bagging five goals from an attacking midfield position to earn another crack at Premier League football.
