Rachid Bouaouzan Bio Send To Friend

Wigan completed the £400,000 signing of Bouaouzan from Sparta Rotterdam, where he had spent the whole of his career, on transfer deadline day in August 2007.

The winger arrived in England with a reputation as a bad boy having been handed a six-month suspended jail term for a tackle which broke the leg of Go Ahead Eagles' Niels Kokmeijer in two places and ended his career.

Sparta Rotterdam suspended Bouaouzan for the rest of the season and he was also banned for 10 matches.

Bouaouzan has lightening pace and the player had also been tracked closely by Bolton and Feyenoord prior to signing for the Latics.

He also qualifies to play for Morocco and has been called up to training camps with the national team; although he is yet to make his debut for his club.
