Wade Elliott Bio Send To Friend

Elliott began his career with non-league Bashley before being handed his professional chance with AFC Bournemouth.

The right-sided winger made his debut for the Cherries in a 2-0 League One defeat at Reading and went on to play 257 games for the club, scoring 37 goals. He had cost the south coast club just £5,000.

He moved to Burnley in the summer of 2005 when his contract expired.

After a steady first season at Turf Moor he went on to be named the club's Player of the Year in 2007 and 2008.

It was Elliott who scored with a spectacular drive in the play-off final to win promotion to the Premier League in May 2009, by which time he had played 186 games with 15 goals to his name.

With pace, skill and creativity he is a crowd favourite.
