Neil Alexander Bio Send To Friend

Initially bought as a backup to Allan McGregor, Alexander joined Rangers in January 2009 and was promoted to first choice keeper in April following the suspension of McGregor after a late night drinking session.

He began his career with Stenhousemuir before moving to Livingston in 1998, where he was part of the Scottish First Division title-winning side of 2001.

Alexander made his name at Cardiff City - who he joined in 2001 for £200,000 - and a six-year spell saw him win promotion to the Football League Championship. However, a contract dispute saw him move to Ipswich in July 2007.

During his six month spell he impressed, but was sold to Rangers in January where he would win the league and cup double in his first season.
