James Chambers Bio Send To Friend

Chambers is a player who at one stage looked to be pushing for a regular place in the West Brom first team squad, before sealing a move to Watford after impressing on loan.

Predominantly a right-back, Chambers has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Watford and had played in only one Premiership match in 2006/07 before being loaned to Cardiff City - where he turned out seven times.

On his return to Vicarage Road he enjoyed more first team action but appears to be surplus to requirements.

Starting as a trainee at WBA, James enjoyed a run in the side mid-way through the 1999/2000 season and Gary Megson showed faith in his abilities by throwing him into his first team plans.

He broke into the first team ahead of his twin brother, Adam.

The defender was unlikely to ever become a true first team certainty, but is a great reader of the game and has pace to boot. He is moore suited to the right-back slot than the centre of defence.

Chambers was no more than a bit-part player in the 2002/03 Premiership season and the 2003/04 promotion season.

He was loaned to Watford in August 2004, making his debut in a 3-0 win over Queens Park Rangers. He impressed, returning on loan in late-September with a permanent move sealed for £250,000 in August.

He has since made over 100 appearances for the Hornets.
