Lee Cook Bio
Send To Friend
Left-sided midfielder Lee Cook signed a four-year deal with Fulham in July 2007 after a £2.5 million move across west London from QPR.
Ahead of the 2008/09 season Cook was yet to make an appearance for the Craven Cottage club after injury limited his opportunities and then a loan deal saw the player spend the second have of the campaign at Charlton Athletic.
The tricky winger began his career at non-league Aylesbury United where he progressed through the youth ranks to make 19 appearances.
Eager for a big move, Cook went on trial at Watford where he earned himself a permanent move in 1999. He did not make his first-team debut until April 2001 and was injured soon afterwards.
Spending most of the 2001/02 season on loan, Cook spent two months at York City before making a move to Queens Park Rangers where he made 13 starts at Loftus Road.
Heading back to Watford for the 2003/04 season, Cook made the breakthrough and played 45 times during the season for the Hornets. He impressed greatly, but elected to leave the club at the end of his contract in July 2004 to move to his boyhood club QPR.
Rangers were ordered to pay a fee of £125,000 to Watford by a compensation tribunal and he moved to the club for the 2004/05 season. During his five year spell at Watford he made 64 appearances and scored 7 goals.
Cook's impressive performances during his time at Rangers earned the midfielder the Young Player of the Year award in his first season, followed by both the Supporters' Player and Players' Player of the Year awards.
Highly-rated, the left-sided midfielder made a real name for himself in the 2006/07 Championship season and began to attract attention from clubs in the top flight before finally moving to Fulham.
He played 118 times for QPR, scoring 9 goals.
