Boaz Myhill Bio
Send To Friend
A hugely popular figure at Hull City, Myhill has been the undisputed number one at Hull City since joining from Aston Villa in December 2003.
Born in the United States, the goalkeeper moved to England at the age of one. He joined Villa at the age of 12.
The England youth international, he also qualifies to play for Wales as well as the USA, had loan spells with Stoke City and Bristol City before making his professional debut for Bradford City - after joining the club on loan in November 2002 - against Sheffield United.
Further loan spells with Macclesfield Town and Stockport County followed before he made the permanent move to Hull. His Tigers debut came in a 1-0 home defeat to Mansfield Town but he soon began to impress as Hull were promoted from League Two as runners-up. They were then promoted from League One in second place the following campaign.
With Hull in the Championship, Myhill continued to progress and was named Hull's Player of the Year for 2005/06. Several Premier League clubs were being linked with his services though no firm interest materialised.
Myhill, long touted as the best goalkeeper outside the top flight, was again outstanding as Hull booked their place in the Premier League through the play-offs in 2007/08. And his form finally earned full international recognition with Wales as he made his debut against Luxembourg in March.
He joined an elite band of players to have played in all four divisions for one club in 2008/09.
