Brad Jones Bio Send To Friend

Australian goalkeeper Jones signed for Middlesbrough in the summer of 2000 and joined the club from Bayswater in his homeland.

The Australian ternational has featured as cover for Boro's more established goalkeepers and has had few first-team opportunities.

Jones was a member of the side that reached the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup, but was loaned out to Second Division outfit Stockport County in mid-December 2002.

He was loaned out again at the start of the 2003/04 season. This time he joined First Division club Rotherham United as cover for the injured Gary Montgomery, before he moved on once more at the beginning of November 2003, this time to Blackpool.

With both Carlo Nash and Mark Schwarzer struggling with injuries, Jones was recalled by Boro in December. And in January 2004 he earned his Boro bow in a 2-0 FA Cup win over Notts County,

He was loaned back to Blackpool for the remainder of the season at the start of November 2004, making his bow in a 1-0 defeat at Chesterfield.

At the beginning of the 2006/07 season Jones was loaned to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday to get more first team football, but was an unpopular choice and returned to Boro.

Jones received his first senior international call up on 5 February 2007 to replace fellow Boro keeper Mark Schwarzer for a friendly game and with Schwarzer's departure from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2008, Jones has a chance to establish himself as #1.
