David Clarkson Bio
Send To Friend
Clarkson scored on his debut for Scotland against the Czech Republic in May 2008 and repeated the feat for his new club side, Bristol City, in August 2009.
He began his career at Motherwell in 2002 - where he also bagged a debut goal - and made himself a regular in the side throughout the following seasons.
His best form came in 2008 when he scored 13 goals for the side and was later voted player of the year, but the joy was tempered by the death of his uncle, Phil O'Donnell in the same year.
He signed for Bristol City and penned a three-year contract in June 2009 for an undisclosed fee, reportedly £800,000, and was called up for the Scotland squad again at the end of the year for their 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
