Marton Fulop Bio Send To Friend

Fulop first arrived in England at the end of May 2004. Tottenham snapped him up as one for the future following the deal for Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

The former Hungary Under-21 international impressed on trial at White Hart Lane and joined from MTK Hungaria for an undisclosed fee.

He was loaned to Chesterfield in March 2005, making his debut in a 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town.

The towering keeper was then handed his full Hungary debut in May when replacing Gabor Kiraly at half-time in an international friendly against France at the Stade Saint-Symphorien, Metz, which they lost 2-1.

Another loan spell followed in October 2005 when he joined Coventry City and he seemed destined to become a permanent Sky Blue before Roy Keane landed him on loan in November 2006, a deal which became permanent when Ben Alnwick headed to White Hart Lane.

He spent much of the 2006/07 season as reserve for Darren Ward and was bumped further down the pecking order when Craig Grodan arrived from Hearts for the start of the 2007/08 season.

Fulop was loaned out to Stoke, who had a £1million bid for the keeper rejected by Sunderland, but was recalled following an injury to Ward.
