Kerrea Gilbert Bio Send To Friend

A strong, athletic defender, Gilbert rose through the Arsenal youth system but has spent most of his time loaned out to gain more experience.

The youngster was handed his debut by Arsenal in November 2005, playing the whole of the 3-0 Carling Cup success against Reading.

The player, a right-back by trade, was forced to fill in on the left due to the Gunners' injury problems in that area.

Failing to get an extended run in the side, Gilbert was loaned to promotion chasing Cardiff City in 2006-07 for the rest of the season where he made 24 appearances.

Joining Southend United on a six-month loan deal in July 2007 he made six appearances for Southend United before falling out with manager Steve Tilson.

Upon his return to Arsenal in January, he decided to join Leicester City on loan for 2008-09. He played 34 matches as the Foxes won the League 1 title.

After featuring for Arsenal in the FA Cup and Champions League in the first half of 2009-10, he was loaned to Peterborough United in January of that season.
