Steven Fletcher Bio Send To Friend

Fletcher became Burnley's record signing in June 2009 when moving to the club from Hibernian in a £3m move.

The Scotland international had carved out a reputation of one of the most promising strikers in Scottish football, scoring 43 goals in 115 SPL starts for Hibs.

The striker made his debut for Hibs at the end of the 2003-04 season in a 30 win over Kilmarnock and cemented his place in the first team the following campaign.

His first call-up into the Under-21 squad came in the 2004-05 season, and was his country's top scorer at the 2006 European Under-21 Championships.

He came of age in 2007-08, named the Scottish Football Writers' Young Player of the Year. And that season he picked up his first full international cap against Croatia.

Fletcher was linked with an array of sides, from Real Madrid to Manchester City to Middlesbrough. But it was Premier League newcomers Burnley who doubled their transfer record to land the player.
