David Martin Bio

Liverpool signed this promising goalkeeper from MK Dons for an undisclosed fee in January 2006.
The England Under-20 international was signed following a successful trial, when he impressed in a reserve team match against Sunderland at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground.
Martin, the son of former West Ham and England defender Alvin Martin, spent four days on trial.
He made his debut for Wimbledon, as MK Don's were formerly known, in April 2004 in a 2-0 defeat at Burnley.
The 6ft 2in stopper made a big impact for the Dons in 2004/05 and figured in 20 matches.
However, he lost his place in the side following the signing of Matt Baker from Wrexham and was restricted to LDV Vans Trophy appearances in 2005/06.
Even so, Liverpool had seen enough to offer the keeper a trial. Good communictions with his defence helped Martin have a brilliant debut season at Anfield when he kept 10 clean sheets in 15 reserve outings.
He went out on loan to Accrington Stanley during 2007 but damaged his ankle only four minutes into his debut and had to return to Liverpool for treatment. He went back to Accrington Stanley on-loan for the rest of the season after regaining his fitness.
He actually began his career as a centre-back with the Tottenham Hotspur Academy before becoming a goalkeeper. And he was also on the books of West Ham United as a youth.
In November 2007 he was on the bench when Liverpool beat Besiktas 8-0 in UEFA Champions League and in May 2008 he signed a new contract extension until June 2010.
He joined League One team Leicester City in August 2008 on a sixth month loan and in December it was confirmed that he would stay at the club until the end of the season.
