Chris Eagles Bio
Send To Friend
Eagles, once dubbed in some quarters as 'the new David Beckham', will again get the chance to perform in the Premier League after winning promotion with Burnley.
A tricky winger who can at times be frustrating, Eagles still has his best years ahead of him.
The winger began his career Watford before being spotted by Manchester United as a youth, making his debut for the Red Devils in a Carling Cup victory at Leeds United at the age of 17 in late October 2003.
Despite being regarded as a promising youngster, he always had to rely on loan moves to get first team football, playing for Watford, Sheffield Wednesday and also in Holland for NEC Nijmegen.
During a pre-season game against Bury in 2005 he scored a Beckham-style goal from the half-way line.
He left Old Trafford in the summer of 2008 after making just 17 appearances for the club. His finest moment was goal against Everton in a 4-2 victory in April 2007 which helped send United to the title.
Eagles signed for Burnley prior to the 2008/09 season, making his debut in a 4-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday and also being sent off early in his Clarets career. He was a regular in the side which was promoted through the playoffs.
