John Pantsil was snapped up by Fulham manager Roy Hodgson along with Bobby Zamora from West Ham Untied in July 2008 and the 27-year-old Ghana international is keen to seize his chance at Craven Cottage.
Pantsil spent two years with the Hammers but made just seven league starts and is hoping to use his move across London to prove he is good enough for the Premier League.
Comfortable at the full back or in midfield, Paintsil began his career in Ghana with Berekum Arsenal and Liberty Professionals before spending a brief spell on loan in Poland with Widzew Lodz.
He moved to Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv n 2002 where he made 46 appearances before moving to Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2004, with who he played 42 games, scoring three goals.
Then West Ham manager Alan Pardew took Paintsil on the club's pre-season tour of Sweden where he impressed Pardew enough earn a contract which he signed in August 2006.
