Seyi George Olofinjana Bio
Send To Friend
Olofinjana moved to Hull City in August 2009 after spending one season with Stoke City.
A powerful midfielder with a good goalscoring record from the middle of the park.
He began his career at FC Crown Ogbomoso in his native Nigeria and later moved to Kwara United. During this time he made his debut for the Nigerian national team, on June 6, 2000 in a 3-2 friendly win over Malawi.
In 2003, the midfielder moved to Norwegian club Brann and after heading to the 2004 African Cup of Nations in Tunisia, Olofinjana joined Wolves, who had just been relegated form the Premier League, for £1.7m.
He became a first choice player at Molineux until a back injury in autumn 2005 kept him out for the rest of the season. The following term, 2006-07, he finished the campaign as the club's top goalscorer as they made the play-offs.
Olofinjana missed part of the 2007-08 season as he competed in the 2008 African Cup of Nations for Nigeria. Wolves failed to make the play-offs and the midfielder decided to move on.
He signed for Stoke City in July 2008 when he made a £3m but he struggled to impose himself on the side, starting 14 Premier League games before the Potteries club recouped the transfer fee by selling him to Hull.
