Holmes became the youngest player to ever pull on the Derby County shirt on Boxing Day 2002 at the age of 15 years and 267 days.
During the same season the talented left-winger became the youngest player ever to play in the proper rounds of the FA Cup.
Discovered by former Derby County boss George Burley Holmes was expected to hit the heights but the youngster became somewhat injury jinxed and has struggled to realise his potential.
The Derby-born player spent the 2004/05 season on loan at Bradford City and was on loan at Bradford City during 2006/07 as Derby achieved promotion to the Premiership.
Despite being highly-rated, at the age of 20 he was still to deliver.
